Steffen, my husband, and I live with our dogs on a historic farm in the beautiful Vogelsberg region of Germany.

Every dog staying with us becomes part of our daily family life. We don't use kennels –our guest dogs live in the house with us, just like our own dogs.

Before accepting any new dog, we always arrange a personal Meet & Greet here at the farm. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, allows your dog to explore the surroundings at their own pace, and gives you a good impression of how we live and care for our dogs.

The Meet & Greet usually lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and costs €58. We believe it's important to take enough time to get to know both you and your dog, so together we can decide whether our boarding environment is the right fit.

Not every dog enjoys living in a small group – and that's perfectly okay.

Our priority is making sure every dog staying with us feels safe, relaxed and comfortable. During the Meet & Greet, we'll carefully assess whether your dog is likely to enjoy life with our existing group and fit into our daily routine.

If we feel that our boarding environment isn't the right match for your dog, we'll always tell you honestly. Your dog's wellbeing will always come first.

If your dog has a favorite blanket or another familiar item from home, they're very welcome to bring it along. Having something that smells like home often helps dogs settle in more quickly.

Beds and food bowls are available here in all shapes and sizes, so there's no need to bring your own.

If your dog requires a special diet due to allergies or food intolerances, please bring enough food for their entire stay.

If your dog has no special dietary requirements, we're happy to provide food. We feed Wolfsblut dry and wet food, and we also offer a selection of raw (BARF) meals.

Please also bring a well-fitting collar and a comfortable harness.

Absolutely.

For the trial stay, you'll usually drop your dog off in the morning and collect them the following morning.

During this time, your dog is introduced gradually to our group, our daily routine and the way we do things here.

As a qualified dog trainer, I pay close attention to the dogs' communication and behavior. This allows me to recognize early on when a dog needs extra support and to guide the group accordingly.

My aim is to make sure every dog has positive and rewarding experiences with other dogs while they're here. I want your dog to build confidence, feel at home and genuinely enjoy coming back.

After the trial stay, I'll give you an honest assessment of how your dog settled in and whether I believe our home boarding is the right long-term fit for them.

The dogs staying with us live in the house as part of our family, just like our own dogs.

Every dog has their own sleeping area where they can relax and enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. During your Meet & Greet, we're happy to show you the parts of our home where the dogs spend their time.

Yes.

Both entire males and females are welcome. Neutering or hormone implants are not a requirement for staying with us.

Whether your dog is a good match for our existing group is something we'll assess together during the Meet & Greet.

Yes.

To help keep all dogs in our care healthy, we require every dog to have up-to-date vaccinations.

We'll let you know exactly which vaccinations and documents we need before your dog's first stay.

Yes.

We kindly ask that every dog staying with us has effective protection against both internal and external parasites.

From experience, ticks, fleas and worms are remarkably unimpressed by coconut oil and other home remedies ;)

Please speak to your vet about the most suitable parasite prevention for your dog before their stay.

Of course.

If your dog needs regular medication, we're happy to administer it according to your instructions.

Please bring enough medication for the entire stay together with clear written dosage instructions.

If your dog becomes ill or injures themselves while staying with us, we'll contact you straight away.

Should veterinary treatment be necessary, we'll take care of everything and keep you informed every step of the way.

If your dog develops a contagious illness, we may need to keep them separate from the other dogs until there's no longer any risk of infection.

In principle, yes.

I hold the official license required in Germany to provide professional dog training and home boarding, including the care of listed breeds.

Due to the legal requirements in the German state of Hesse, as well as the way we manage our boarding groups, listed breeds are walked separately rather than together with our regular group.

This means we can only offer a limited number of places and the additional time involved is reflected in our boarding fees.

If you're considering a stay, please get in touch as early as possible so we can discuss whether we're able to offer your dog a suitable place.

Naturally, all legal requirements for keeping a listed breed in Germany must be met.

To keep our dogs' daily routine calm and predictable, drop-offs and collections are arranged by appointment only.

This helps us avoid unnecessary disruption and ensures we have enough time for every dog arriving or leaving our care.

That's why we regularly share little glimpses of our daily life with the dogs in our Instagram Stories. It's a lovely way to see what your dog has been up to and how they're enjoying their stay with us.
